Underwater hockey is a non-contact sport played entirely underwater. Two teams of six players each compete to maneuver a weighted puck into the opposing team’s goal, all while holding their breath and swimming around the pool’s bottom. The players use short sticks to push the puck along the pool floor and make short passes to teammates as they advance the puck towards their opponents goal.
Teams: Each team consists of six players: three forwards, two defense players, and a goalie.
Objective: The main goal is to score by pushing the puck into the opponent's goal, located at the end of the pool.
Playing Time: Games are played in 2 halves of 8-15 minutes. Practices are played continuously for about an hour.
Equipment: Players wear snorkels, fins, masks, and protective gloves. They also use short sticks to control the puck.
Unique & Fun: It is a completely different experience compared to traditional sports. You’ll learn to manage your breath, work as a team, and improve your swimming skills.
